We established a new collection “OIKOS” at the Journal for the Critique of Science, Imagination and New Anthropology with an intention to fill an enormous knowledge gap in the field of Political ecology in Slovenia. Since there is a lack of foreign and Slovenian literature from the field of Political ecology our basic goal is to translate key works while simultaneously publish books and collections of scientific papers. The production of knowledge which would highlight changes in nature and environment as well as contemplate the relation between society, nature and environment on different levels and disciplines was in Slovenia sporadic, unsystematic, occasional - rather individualistic than systematic. Our short-term vision is that this lack in intellectual space should be replaced with a new ecological collection which would cover production of Slovenian and foreign authors, especially from the field of humanism and social sciences. 20 years of world knowledge production gave birth to many fundamental works which should be translated for the needs of intellectual and general public facing contemporary environmental issues. Our long-term vision with OIKOS is to establish an international and Slovenian network of organizations and individuals which work on the field of ecology and want to co-create and contribute to development of theoretical and practical development of green thought in Slovenia and the World.
